This a great opportunity for students who were absent on the original picture day or for those who would like to have their pictures retaken.

Health Screenings At SES Nov. 18th & 19th

The Nooksack Valley School District will conduct health screenings in each school the week of November 9th- November 20th. To promote student health and well-being, each child will each receive a vision and hearing screening. You will be notified in writing if a concern is found as a result of any of these screenings. Information about each screening is provided below.

Washington State law mandates that the following screenings be completed:

1. Vision – Vision screenings are done using a spot screener. This tool screens for a variety of vision issues. Even if your child passes this screening, an exam from an eye doctor may still be needed. School nurses and trained parent volunteers will conduct this screen.

2. Hearing – Hearing screenings will be provided by a district speech and language therapist and trained para educator. Washington State law requires that two screenings occur before a referral is sent home to parents.

Exciting News!!!

Our old playground area is being cleared of some of the old equipment and gravel. Mulch and new equipment purchased by the Sumas PTO will be installed.

We will be posting for volunteers to help us install a few items once we have secured a completion date from Stremler.

Friendly Reminder About Late Arrivals

Our school doors close at 9:00am, when the second bell rings. Students arriving after 9:00am are considered late.

If your student arrives after 9:00am, a parent or guardian must bring them inside and sign them in at the office.

For your child 's safety, please do not leave your child outside the school doors unattended.

Thank you for helping us keep all of our students safe!

ATTENDANCE

You can now report your child's absence directly through Parent Square!

Open the Parent Square app or website
Select Attendance
Select your child
Choose Report an Absence
Select the date and reason for the absence.
Add a note, if needed
Click Submit.

You can also call the school at (360) 988-9423 to report an absence. Dulce Sanchez or Amy DeWaard will be happy to assist you.

All unreported absences will result in a call from the office, Unreported absences that we are not able to contact you about will result in an Unexcused Absence on your child's record.

ASB Cards!

Elementary ASB cards are once again available to purchase at the school office for $11.00. The cards provide entrance to all Nooksack Valley High School home sporting events. Cash or check only. (exact change only!)

Annual Student Update Now Open!

We need your help. To assure that we have accurate and current information about your student(s) and family, we ask that you log into your Skyward Family Access account and complete the Annual Student Update Online form there. You will find the Annual Student Update tile under each of your student's name. Please complete this for each student. This is also where you would provide your permissions for the sharing (or not sharing) of your student's demographic information to various entities/agencies (such as pictures, name and grade to local media, vendors, higher ed, military, etc.) If you need help with your Skyward login, please contact the school office staff.
