IMPORTANT! Transportation Updates

Hi Sumas Elementary Families!

As we get closer to the start of school and our Back-to-School Meet and Greet on Wednesday, August 26 (3:30-4:30), we wanted to remind you that we will be sending your kids home (bus, pick up or walk) based on the information we had last year, unless you contact us and provide us with a change.

If you need to change their way home or just want to check what information we have, please call the office 360.988.9423 or stop by and see Amy and Dulce at the meet and greet!

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the first day of school?

The first day of school is Thursday, August 27th for 1st - 5th grade
The first day of Kindergarten and Early Learning is Tuesday, September 1st.
The elementary schedule for all student is Monday - Friday, 9:00am-3:15pm

When do we find out who our child's teacher is?

For Kindergarten and Early Leaning a teacher will call you and set up a meeting. Meetings will be on 8/27, 8/28, and 8/31.
Class lists will be posted on the front window of the school Wednesday August 26 at 3:30pm, or you can look at your family access portal online in skyward.

Is breakfast and lunch available at no cost again this year?

Yes! It is available to all students in our District from Early Learning-12th grade at no cost.

Does the district provide school supplies?

Yes! Families only need to provide a Backpack and Water bottle.

Can I walk my child to their classroom on the first day?

No, please drop students off in front of the school. Staff members will be there to help students.
For the safety of all students, we cannot allow visitors to walk our hallways and visit classrooms without a background check and volunteer paperwork.

ASB Cards!

Elementary ASB cards are once again available to purchase at the school office for $11.00. The cards provide entrance to all Nooksack Valley High School home sporting events. Cash or check only. (exact change only!)

Annual Student Update Now Open!

We need your help. To assure that we have accurate and current information about your student(s) and family, we ask that you log into your Skyward Family Access account and complete the Annual Student Update Online form there. You will find the Annual Student Update tile under each of your student's name. Please complete this for each student. This is also where you would provide your permissions for the sharing (or not sharing) of your student's demographic information to various entities/agencies (such as pictures, name and grade to local media, vendors, higher ed, military, etc.) If you need help with your Skyward login, please contact the school office staff.
