Nooksack Elementary second graders took control of an engineering project to benefit the school’s kindergartners. The second graders interviewed the younger students, looking to learn what types of toys the students enjoyed. Then the second graders made them and shared the toys with the class. The kindergarten students now have access to the new toys during “discovery time” and the second graders have accomplished a creative element of the science curriculum.
